Dearbhla Lennon

Dearbhla Lennon began dancing at the tender age of two under the expert tuition of her mother, Mona Ni Rodaigh. A medallist at regional, national and World Championship level, she also represented Ireland at many International Festivals throughout the world.

At age 17, she joined the original cast of "Lord of the Dance", where she performed as principal dancer for over five years in both leading female roles. She has also since performed as principal dancer with "Riverdance" the show during a tour of Japan and Taiwan and as a dancer in The Abbey Theatre's production of "The Shaughraun".

Dearbhla graduated with a first class honours degree in Journalism and Media Communications in 2004. She was also awarded "Student of the Year" at Griffith College Dublin. During her time at college, she also worked as a fashion model and dancing teacher, having obtained her TCRG exam in 2001.

Now working as a researcher and insert presenter for RTE's "The Afternoon Show" Dearbhla divides her time between dancing and television, often combining the two in shows such as "Celbrity Jigs N' Reels" and "Dancing at the Depot".

Dearbhla is delighted to be visiting the South of France this summer and is very much looking forward to teaching at the Irish dance south workshop.
