As Principal Dancer with Riverdance, Breandán has led performances to over 600 million people worldwide. He has achieved stardom among live audiences throughout the world and has appeared on national TV in the USA, all over Europe, China, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Appearances include the David Letterman's 'The Late Show' (USA), Wetten Dass with Thomas Gottschalk (Germany) and China's national TV broadcaster (audience peaked at 250 million). Breandan led the Riverdance Troupe, as soloist, to open the 2003 Special Olympic World Games with a live audience of over 80,000 and countless millions on TV.
Breandán has performed live for Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness Prince Charles. He has been honoured to perform for and to meet the late King Hussein of Jordan, the Emperor of Japan, the Crown Prince of Japan, the late Diana, Princess of Wales, Prince Rainier of Monte Carlo and Queen Sonia of Norway.
Excelling at Irish dancing from a young age, Breandán has captured numerous national and international titles and has four World Championship medals to his credit.
Breandán has been choregraphing traditional dance from his youth and after studying in the Giordano school in Chicago started to add other dance influences to his creations. He created many pieces and shows leading to world championship medals and contemporary peer acclaim. In the commercial arena Breandán has choreographed many promotional pieces for high impact TV productions and was involved in augmenting the Riverdance solos after assuming the lead role in 1996. He enjoys working on integrating new world influences with the cultural depth of his natural talent, and is a recognised leader in the development of contemporary Irish dance.
Breandán has shared the stage with the principals of The Royal Ballet and English National Ballet at the Albert Hall, such as Darcy Bussell and Wayne Sleep and has shared headline status with José Carreras.
